Elie Honig is a CNN senior legal analyst, who previously worked for 14 years as a federal and state prosecutor. He successfully prosecuted over 100 members and associates of La Cosa Nostra, including Bosses and other high-ranking members of the mafia, earning the nickname “Hotshot Honig” from the Gotti family. During his career, Honig prosecuted and tried federal cases involving organized crime, human trafficking, public corruption, violent crime, and more. He’s also the author of bestselling book, Hatchet Man: How Bill Barr Broke the Prosecutor’s Code and Corrupted the Justice Department, and writes the weekly Note From Elie column featured in the Cafe Brief newsletter.
